Justice Democrats works to change the Democratic party from the inside out and champions issues like a single-payer, Medicare For All healthcare system, tuition free public college, a $15 minimum wage, and abolishing ICE. Justice Democrats played a critical role in the original recruitment and eventual victory of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s in New York’s 14th congressional district. The organization continues to recruit and support progressive candidates across the country.

While Democratic candidate for governor Cynthia Nixon today called for the impeachment Donald Trump, Governor Andrew Cuomo said that he would instead leave discussion of impeachment to the Senate Republicans. In a characteristic move for New York’s fundraiser-in-chief, Andrew Cuomo refused to join calls to impeach his major donor, Donald Trump - just like he continues to oppose abolishing ICE, even while accepting over $800,000 from donors profiting off of it.

On Amazon Prime Day, Democratic candidate for governor Cynthia Nixon formally announced her opposition to tax breaks for a new Amazon distribution center in Rensselaer County. The out-of-state developer building the facility has requested nearly $14 million in tax breaks. The jobs are expected to pay less than $15/hr.
