As civil rights leaders gather on the steps of City Hall today to condemn the racist ad released by Governor Cuomo and his running mate Kathy Hochul, Jumaane and Cynthia jointly released a response video demanding the ad be revoked.

Council Member Brad Lander today endorsed Cynthia Nixon in her bid for governor. Lander, a founding co-chair of the Council’s Progressive Caucus, represents the 39th district encompassing portions of Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Columbia Waterfront, Gowanus, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Borough Park, and Kensington.

Late Sunday evening, news broke that Governor Cuomo's top lawyer and close aide, Alphonso David, knew that a state employee had been fired in retaliation for coming forward about sexual harassment.
