VIDEO: Cynthia Nixon and Jumaane Williams Speak Out Against Cuomo-Hochul’s Racist Ad

NEW YORK, NY – As civil rights leaders gather on the steps of City Hall today to condemn the racist ad released by Governor Cuomo and his running mate Kathy Hochul, Jumaane and Cynthia jointly released a response video demanding the ad be revoked.

“This was a classist attack that showed that a millionaire corporate Democrat was completely out of touch with what New Yorkers truly go through. And it seems like only certain types of candidates have to deal with these attacks – like myself and Stacey Abrams who is running for Governor in the state of Georgia,” said Jumaane in the video.

Cynthia added, “I was really shocked when I saw this ad for the racial dog whistling and the poor shaming. I expect that from Republicans, not New York Democrats. And frankly, I’d like to tell Governor Cuomo and Kathy Hochul, that we don’t make fun of homeowners and small business owners who are struggling with debt. As Democrats, we work to make their lives better.”
