Cynthia Nixon Pledges to Invest in #SchoolsNotJails, Unveils Justice Reform Plan

Today, outside P.S. 075 Mayda Cortiella, Cynthia Nixon discussed her plan to invest in schools not jails. Last month, Cynthia unveiled her “Schools Not Jails” plan to invest $4.2 billion in our lowest income school districts and to end the school to prison pipeline. The plan also included a $361 million investment to expand pre-k and a plan to make “free college” available to 170,000 additional New Yorkers. Today, she unveiled that plan’s counterpart, Justice For All, which increases police accountability, speeds up the timeline for closing Rikers, legalizes marijuana, reforms parole, end children’s jail, completely “raises the age,” and eliminates cash bail, among other measures.

LIAR, LIAR: CUOMO CAUGHT BLATANTLY LYING IN ATTEMPT TO WIN POLITICAL ENDORSEMENT

The Governor was exposed today for lying on his questionnaire to the Stonewall Dems, an LGBTQ Democratic club whose endorsement he seeks. When asked if he’d ever endorsed a member of the IDC (the group of elected Democrats who voted to give control of the senate to the Republicans), the Governor answered “no.” The only problem is he endorsed the head of the IDC, Jeff Klein, in 2014. Cuomo was also a major part of the IDC-GOP coalition’s very existence. (Oops.)
